Can someone please help me, Mirosoft Works will not let me open documents
that have been created in Microsoft Word. A pop-up box keeps on telling me
that the file may be corrupted when I know it isnt. Is there any way I can
open these documents as I'm in year 12 and really need to do coursework!

Possibly the word processor component of Works is not compatible with MS
Word or with the version of MS Word in which the documents were created.
Posting in a Works or Word newsgroup will get you the help from experts
in those programs.

microsoft.public.word.newusers
microsoft.public.word.general

When you post, make sure to include the versions of Works and Word used.
