Computer Management

After installing Windows XP Professional, everything seemed to be running
fine until I attempted to get into Computer Management. Clicking on
Performance & Maint. worked, but when I cicked on Computer Management, the
window came up and that's as far as I got. It wouldn't allow me to access
anything in the computer management window, to include closing it out. I
opted to reinstall Windows and it's working fine now. I'm just curious as to
what caused this problem.
