I have Windows XP home addition. I use one account and
my wife uses another. The computer runs fine when only
may account is in use. Whenever my wife uses her account
then the computer acts up. Often it will "freeze up" and
the only thing we can do is re-boot it. We have Norton's
Anti-virus and firewall etc. Have checked to the best of
my ability (very limited) and there is no sign of a
virus. Is there anything I can do short of taking the
computer into a computer shop?

What programs start when your wife logs in that don't start when you
log in? Look in her Start Up group, you may find something there that
the machine doesn't like.

My brother had the same problem when he was running
Norton, he finally got on the phone with a tech and they
fixed his. Give Norton Support a call and tell them what
it is doing they may be able to help.
