computer lock up

my computer kept locking up all the time and i don't know
what to do and it is frustrating i need help from any one
who can or at least an advice.

"Locking up" is usually the system waiting for a resource to become
available. Please start a new thread and describe the problem and what
programs you are running as well as any changes you have made to
hardware, software and operating system. This is rather unusual for
Windows 2000 so if you posted in this newsgroup by mistake please post
the new message in the newsgroup for the operating system you are using
instead.
