Computer Location/Usage Option

I just installed Vista on a machine I had at home. During the install I
choose HOME when it asked me where I would be using it, HOME, WORK or PUBLIC
were the choices. After reading an article on installing Vista, it said a
better choice was WORK for it's networking. My question is now that I have
it installed, can I change this option from HOME to WORK and how? If not
what individual options need to changed?

Hi,

Sure you can change it. Click start, type system and choose that entry from
the top of the menu. Go to the advanced system settings, then the Computer
Name tab. You can change the name and type of network here, though I
seriously doubt that you need to.

Ok, what am I missing, I click on START and I don't see anything that says
TYPE SYSTEM or ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS?

Ok, I figured it out, you wanted me to go to START/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM, but
I don't find any option under any of the tabs that says HOME/WORK/PUBLIC like
it asked when I installed Vista?

Try this:
Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> System
Then in the left hand panel, select Advanced system setting and the select
the Computer Name tab then select Network ID ...

We must have different options, which is weird, but I found what you were
pointing out under CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM-COMPUTER NAME-NETWORK ID and it
already says this computer is part of a business network, even though I
choose home when I installed it. So it looks like it determined and set it
up correctly. Thanks for all the assistance.
