Computer hangs

I have had an issue with Vista hanging. It started when it would wake up
from sleep, it would work for 30 seconds, then I would get the spinning blue
circle and have to hard reboot. I changed power settings so that the
computer never sleeps, never runs the screen saver, never turns of the
monitors and never turns off the hard drive. I will check emails in the
morning, leave the computer running and physically turn off the monitors.
Come home after school, turn the monitors on, and everything will be fine
for about 30 seconds and then it locks up.

I have a clean install of vista business, gateway P4, 2 Gb, Ati x300 series
video card, Microsoft blue tooth mouse and keyboard.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Firsty I would check that all the latest updates to Vista have been applied,
including SP1 if you have access.

Secondly I would confirm that all hardware devices have the latest
firmware/software updates available to them. I would guess that hardware is
causing the issue but it's generally harder to troubleshoot.
