Computer freezing

My computer freezes during and after the boot up stage,
before reaching the desktop, at desktop. when using
different pakages and when connecting to service provider.

I had the computer looked at about 18 months ago and a new
graphics card was fitted.

What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

Sounds like malware. Scan using Ad-aware, Pest Patrol, Spybot Search and
Destroy and use a good anti-virus and firewall. If your system is clean,
then some software conflict or even a hardware malfunction could be to
blame. Did it just start doing this out of the blue?
