computer freezes when i print

I recently installed W 2000 after using Win 98. The computer ( P2, 356 RAM) freezes when i print, I can't do anyting until the print job is complete. I would appreciate any suggestions..Thanks
 
Not an expert, but;
You may want to check out the printer settings - esp. the spooling
option.
