Hi Anna ,

Thanks for your help and advice.

Sadly I brought this computer second hand and I do not have the XP setup
disk. So when I tried to run the sfc /scannow program it kept asking me for
the XP setup disk. I will work my way through your other suggestions ( along
with those opthers kind enough to offer free advice) and thanks once again
for your help.

Hi there ,

Thanks for your help and advice. I am still working on solving the problem
and have posted a HijackThis log on one of the forums you suggested. Also, I
have had no problem reaching other sites , do I still need to delete the HOST
FILE ?

I'm new to these sites and grateful for all help and advice offered.

..coHi there ,

I carried out your instructions and ran the registry file you sent back and
unfortunatley this has made no difference , the computer is still freezes on
boot-up. On slightly different note I think I've now got ride off all viruses
and maleware/spy ware. And also I seem to have sorted out the bootlog.com
problem by removing an "autorun file" file from the C: drive. This problem
appeared when I tried to enter the harddrive and got an error message.

Thanks to everyone for the help and support so far and if anyone has any
suggestions on hoew to sort out my final problem " Computer freezes on boot
up " I would be very grateful.
