Can anyone help me? Trying to install WindowsXP Home
Edition (Upgrade Version) but after it goes through all
the installation process, re-boots, it locks up on the
all black "Microsoft" screen stating to please wait.

Any comments?

Thanx

Are you doing a clean install (formatting the drive first) or trying to
install over an existing version of Windows? If the latter (you say you
have an Upgrade Version, so this is probably the case), try doing the
clean install. Be aware that this will remove all your current data and
programs, but you'll be able to reinstall compatible programs from cd
and restore data from backups. If a clean install doesn't work, you
probably have faulty hardware. In that case, start with a RAM
diagnostic (I like Memtest86). If the RAM is good - and you want to let
the test run for a long time, like overnight - then test your hard
drive with a utility from the mftr.
