Computer freezes at Windows logo screen

I tried swapping almost every component except for the CPU and
motherboard with all the nonessential disconnected. It behaves very
strange to start with. I can get the system running in Safe Mode. Also
I can get to Last Known Good Configuration. However as only I try to
start the system normally it freezes at the Windows logo. BTW I had a
lot of problems with the keyboard which not always catches up although
it was taken from another PC where it worked fine. There is nothing in
the Event logs and scandisk doesn't find anything either. Hitting ESC
at Windows logo does nothing.
Any help or ideas?
Thanks

You don't mention what "swapping" you actually did. I doubt if anyone can
advise you when they can't actually see what you did. Try swapping at all
back again.

Well I swapped almost all of the components from the buggered PC
with components from older but working PC.

You won't get a successful loading of Windows doing that, unless you
install the proper drivers for those swapped components.
