I re-installed Windows XP and everything seems to be working fine. But when
I install windows xp service pack 2, I am having problems. After I get the
following statement "You have succesfully completed the service pack 2 setup
wizard. To Apply the changes, the wizard has to restart windows. To restart
windows click Finish." ---So I clicked Finished.

After it restarts this is what I see:
1. Windows XP Window
2. please wait.... in light blue screen
3. I selected "Protect My PC By Turning Automatic Update On" - I have also
done it "Do not protect My PC with Automatic Update"
4. PROBLEM: Then the Screen stays black, kind of like its turned off. And I
"could" move the mouse, but nothing else happens. After about 30 minutes of
seeing a black screen I reboot the system, by pushing on the reset button.
After I reboot the system the computer seems to be working fine, and it shows
service pack 2 in system in control panel. I have installed and unistalled
Windows XP Service Pack 2 about 4 times and I always get this black screen
after the first restart once Service Pack 2 has been installed.

I have tried the windows update and I have also donwloaded the Windows
Service Pack 2 file, and installed it.

I ran sypware and virus software before the service pack installation. I did
found some spyware on my system, and deleted it.

I really appreciate if your help in trying figure out what is causing this
problem and how can I fix it.

Download the latest video card driver, available from the manufacturer's web
site
Un-install the currect installed video card driver
Reboot
Install the new drivers.

I did this to fix my problem, during SP2 insatll.

I unistalled Windows Service Pack 2, re-booted, uninstalled the video card
drivers, re-booted, re-installed the video card drivers using the
manufactures website, rebooted, and re-installed Windows Service Pack 2.

But I still get the same problem. I really appreciate if you can help me
out solve this problem.

THANKS
