I am working with a Dell Smartstep 100D. The computer was brought in from
another office. It didn't have much in it, but it was working slow. I
cleaned, checked for virus and spies, ran disk error, and ran defrag to try
and start with fresh machine. I installed windowsxp sp2, it had windows 2000.
the machine was responding like it should.
I went to shut it down today and it displayed not to shut it off, not to
unplug it ,it will shut down automatically.
Since sp2 has been installed, windows has been tossing me alot of updates in
the last few days, most regarding security. If I didn't miss any, I count 29
updates. I've been writing down the update #'s. Do you think I downloaded
something that did not come from microsoft?
This may or may not pertain to the main issue, but my comp. has slowed down
again after I installed Norton beta 2006. I'm trying to get feedback from
them.
I just think it's strange to have a computer tell me not to unplug it.
P.S. I waited for the comp. to shut down then I unplugged it.
