Computer crashed - Lost frontpage files

My computer recently crashed and I lost all of my Frontpage files to my
website - no backup. My website is published on a server and I was wondering
if there is anyway to import those files back to my hard drive and create new
webpage in Frontpage. That way I can edit them and republish revised pages.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

If the site is hosted on a server that has the FP extensions, then you need to open the site
directly in FP via File Menu | Open Web / Site and then File Menu | Publish Site / Web back to a
folder on your HD.

The server already has a full copy of all the pages in your web site.

The easiest and probably safest way to maintain web pages is as follows:

Open the page using Internet explorer explorer,
then click on File and then click on Edit With Microsoft Front Page.

After you enter your user name and password FP will open your site for
editing.

When you finish editing you should select "save" instead of "publish" .
If you don't click anything but attempt to close FrontPage then you will get
a dialog box asking if you want to sae the changes

Presumably whoever is hosting your web pages does their own backups on a
regular basis.

LOL

P.S. I don't think it is a good idea fo mix FTP with the Front Page PUBLISH
because some Hosts really get messed if you try to use both.

You should always have a local copy, as some host will charge to restore.
