Computer Crash

I was formatting a CD with Roxio CD creator. I copied my data to the CD,
and when it was done I pushed the button to open my CD drive.

Then, it happened. My computer screen flashed blue for about half a second,
then went black. Then, it started the boot process. In short, it crashed.

I tried contacting my computers manufacturer (Dell), but I am outside my
warrantee period. I tried contacting Roxio, but they said that because it
was bundled with my computer my manufacturer would provide my "free" support
(yeah right).

Any suggestions for breaking the red tape, or troubleshooting this problem?

my computer/properties (right click)/advanced/start up
and recovery/settings/uncheck automaticaly restart under
system failure.
This will freeze the blue screen so that you can read it
and then you will have to manually reboot. Report back
what error message you are getting. My guess is it will
be a device driver. Also, when your computer reboots and
you get the option to send report to Microsoft, connect
to the net and send the report. If you are lucky, the
online crash analysis report will tell you the problem.
Make sure your roxio and sound card drivers are all up to
date.

I would think it's the UDF file program that comes with Roxio's software
that is the problem. Do you have version 6? I also have a DELL (Inspiron
5000e) with XP Pro. I sometimes get problems. Take it up with Roxio, not
DELL.

What does the computer do now? Anything? If it does nothing could be the
power supply.
