Incorrect Function

I get a “Drive\not accessible. Incorrect function†when I try to copy files
to a CD in Windows XP. KB Article 315350 states that a probable cause is
Roxio CD Creator.
I had CD Creator 6 but just deleted it.
I reset the drive values in the registry and checked the box in the drive
properties recording tab. The drive recorded fine, but when I reboot the
computer I loose the check in the drive properties recording tab.
I suspect there is something left in the registry from the delete but I
don't know where to look.
I can’t get any help from Roxio because I was using an old version!

A. Look in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs for Roxio DLA. If you see it,
uninstall it. Reboot the machine and now try. If all is well, you're done.
If not (or you don't find the separate entry for Roxio DLA)...

B. Try a different CD burning program. Here's a good free one:

Can you burn successfully? If yes, then use CDBurnerXP Pro instead of the
built-in XP program. Roxio's DLA program apparently didn't uninstall
cleanly.

Or C: (which I think is even better, and what I would suggest):

1) Use System Restore to rollback to before you did this problematic action,
and 2) then use Add/Remove to *properly uninstall* the program, and reboot.

chock full of misinformation, unverified claims and general misfits
pounding their incorrect views for never using any registry cleaner.
Not a solid piece of data there for anything they claim about the "bad
side" of registry cleaners and completely devoid of any information
about downloading anything from reputable sites. Oh, and a fair amount
of pomposity amongst the verbosity of a few misinformants.

One thing that was right: Live 1 care isn't a good program and doesn't
allow a smooth recovery from mistakes. No idea what morro is about;
probably the same thing. MS knows not what they are doing with registry
cleaners.

Yeah, right. You should talk.
Just for the record, Alice doesn't live here anymore (and we're not in
Kansas, either). Over all the years, I've probably used a registry cleaner
(and other such apps) as much or more than you. And actually, I still do,
but only to locate or remove some occasional program annoyances (like in the
windows history lists), and/or to help me customize a few things for some
programs.

Take a trip thru the past threads; quite a few mentions here & there.
Ccleaner (crap cleaner) seems to be one of the more appreciated ones
here. It is a decent cleaner and does what it says it'll do. There are
others but they won't come to mind right now for some reason. I'm sure
someone will pipe in with them.

You're also going to hear from the foolish ones with claims that no
registry clearner is aver any good for anything, phrases like snake oil,
crap like that. Just ignore them - they're simpletons at best IMO.

Which is what? What does it say it will do?

Have you compared CCleaner's "cleaning" list to other registry
"cleaners"? I have. It shows maybe 10% of what some other "cleaners"
show that needs to be removed.

ALL registry cleaner suck. Period.

Yes, all the experts are simpletons and you are "The" Master of the
Windows operating system, the know it all sent here to set the record
straight, the bearer of truth and the beacon in the night that helps
steer all the lost Windows users to safe port.

He's a clueless idiot! Anyone who has ever used these cleaners for any
length of time eventually comes to realize that:

1- Registry cleaners do nothing at all to speed up your computer or
otherwise improve performance.

2- They do at times remove valid entries that can cause your
applications and operating system to behave in unexpected manners.
