computer booting off of XP cd instead of hard drive

I tried changing c-mos and start-up preferences and that forces you to boot
off of the CD and re-install windows XP. How can you get XP to boot off of
the hard drive instead of the CD? Thanks.

Take the install CD out of the CD/DVD drive.

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. I took the CD out and re-booted. I
received this error:

Boot from CD:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

The computer would not boot back up without putting the CD in. Now What?

Thank you,

If you're saying that the computer boots Windows XP from the hard
drive only when the XP CD is in the optical drive, that means that the
bios setting for hard disk boot priority is incorrect.

Andy, Thank you, we finally figured that out. We have the problem fixed now.
Thanks for the help.
