compt wont boot after sp2

To Jupiter Jones and Will Denny:
thank you guys for ur quick response, yes i've tried last
known good... its still the same. I have tried Auto
Recovery feature but it also failed. I have a P4 2.8 Ghz
prescott processor. I've read this while browsing on this
newsgroup http://cquirke.mvps.org/sp2intel.htm "SP2 will
hard lock on all XP bootups if BIOS does not push Revision
8 (sometimes 7) microcode to Prescott processors!" In the
meantime, m still figuring out on how to at least recover
my data. any other suggestions???? Again, thanks on ur
assistance!!!!!!
