Compressing a file before E-mailing it

This is not strictly an Outlook question, it is more of a Windows XP
question. My colleague opened Windows Explorer, right clicked over a file to
choose the option to compress it before sending it as an Email attachment.

She's not sure what happened, however a message appeared on screen, which
unfortunately she has forgotten. The outcome is that she can no longer get
the option to create a compressed folder.

I've looked through help and can't find anything that tells me what happened
to the option. Does anyone have any ideas. We'd both be really grateful for
any help.

Many thanks

This indeed not an Outlook/Windows feature. It is added by a third party
compression tool like WinZIP or WinRAR (I prefer to use WinRAR)

She doesn't have a third party compression tool, she was using the Windows XP
one. "Send to - Compressed Folder" - are you saying that the only way she can
get the Windows XP compression tool back is by adding a third party one?

Thanks

No, you wasn't clear on what you actually were trying to do. A third party
tool has the option to "Compress and e-mail..." which made it confusing ;-)

You can create a new text-file and change the .txt to .zfsendtotarget. Place
this file into her profile folder;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\SendTo
