compressed floppy

I am now using windows xp on a new time computer. I want
to access data recorded on floppy that was originally
processed on my old system, with windows 95 and
compressed using DriveSpace.

All I get when I try is a Read Me message that tells me
that I need Drive Space and W95 to access. How do I get
XP to release this data?

You may have success restoring Win 9X backups (.qic files)
with Stomp BackupMYPC (formerly Veritas Backup Exec),

If you still have the Win95 system, decompress the files there. Then
copy the files to the new computer. If they are MS Backup files,
you'll need to take further steps as Carey has already outlined.

The message is pretty much correct. Tho a win98 system may do the trick
also.

You don't.. Drive space needed a 'real mode' driver loaded in
config.sys - something that XP absolutely will not allow. You will have
to take it to a Win98/95 machine that has Drive Space, copy the files
there to some other medium
