Component Designer cannot connect to the componet database

There is another application that has an exclusive connection to the component database

I don´t launch de Component Designer, help please

Try to close "Component Database Manager"
Or if it is closed then reboot server.

Also, be sure that you aren't mixing different versions of XPE. Using the Evaluation version and the Full version together leads to weird results like this. For example, if you are using a Full version of the database and connecting to it with Evaluation version of the tools, you'll see the "exclusive mode" errors. Use either the Eval version or the Full version exclusively.

I had the same problem with evaluation version
The workaround is to rename the data folder to old data in the Winxpe
program folder and resinstall the database server mssql2000 that comes with
the demo.
