Component database

I guess this is obvious to everyone else, but I'm hoping someone will
clarify for me. I've been building XPe images with the standard
toolkit of TD and the Component Database running on the same computer
under Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine.

Now I need a coworker to be able to build images using this same
Component Database. Does that mean I must upgrade to one of the full
versions of MS SQL Server?

Thanks-
Rich

Team sharing is possoble. A back end SQL server is typically used, but in
theory, your cowoker can connect to your database if it is shared on the
network. The only problem might be if your computer is off line.

The computer is online and the MSDE software is up and running.
However, it doesn't appear that this application has a network port
open (using fport).

Using Component Database Manager on my coworker's computer we
attempted to access the database on my computer, but no connection is
made.

I guess maybe I should be on an MS SQL group with this questions, but
can MSDE be configured to service clients over the network?

Thanks-

Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine does not support remote
connection. You need to install at least the MSSQL server express in
order to support network access.
