Completely Turning Off Auto Insert CD Detect?

How do I completly turn off auto detect CD and Zip detect
in XP Pro? I don't even want that little window that says
choose program to open, to come up. If I pick "do
nothing" for each file type within each individual drive,
I still get that "choose program to open" window and it
causes nothing but problems.
