I recently installed MSOff2003Pro primarily to use Outlook as my e-mail
handler. I mistakenly added a few erroneous e-mail addresses and now cannot
expunge them from Outlook. They are no longer in Contacts and a global
search for the address does not find them, but they sometimes show up as a
typeahead option when I am entering an e-mail address in a new message.
WHERE are they hiding that an advanced search in the "subject and notes
fields" of my whole personal folders for any type of Outlook object does not
find them??? Do I have to destroy my pst files and rebuild them??

How can I prevent Outlook from saving (somewhere) the e-mail addresses I
don't want it to take off of my emails??

Thanks, njmeatball 20070123

The below response from Robert was in response to someone wanting to get
them back! - see email in this forum from 01/22 6.41 I assume deleting the
..nk2 file would get rid off the memorized cache?? - you will of course back
it up first :) -

If you still have the nk2 file of the profile you can use these utitlities;
http://www.ingressor.com/
http://www.nk2.info/

Thanks for your response; I appreciate it very much.

I located the nk2 file in document & settings right where it belongs. I
downloaded and installed nk2.info.exe and ran it. The offending e-mail
address was NOT found. I re-opend Outlook and started a new e-mail and got
the offending e-mail address. what is the downside of deleting this nk2
file?? Is ingressor that much more powerful than nk2.info.exe that it might
find the file?? Is it possible that Outlook is opening two nk2 files in two
locations (I have a parallel hard drive for backup purposes)??

Thanks again for your help. njmeatball 20070124

I am not sure that you have an answer yet.

To remove a name from the cache, use the down arrow and your delete key on
the keyboard.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!
