compatible DVD decoder is not installed

R

Rene

I have done a clean install of Win XP home on my Dell
(originally came with Win Me) and when I go to use the
DVD player I get:

"Windows media player cannot play this dDVD because a
compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer."

Details give: Error id: 0xC00D116D, remedy id: 0x00000000

Please help!

1. Open XP's "Help and Support"
2. Type DVD in the search box, hit enter.
3. Click on "DVD Troubleshooter".
4. You probably need a new DVD decoder.
