COMPAQ A1000 PRINTER

SINCE WE INSTALLED WINDOWS XP FOR HOME USE, WE HAVE NOT
BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A CONNECTION WITH MY PRINTER.
I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I NEED SOME KIND OF DISC(CD) TO
HELP ME INSTALL THE PRINTER AND MAKE IT COMPATIBLE WITH
WINDOWS XP.

Have you tried the Compaq site?

It is also apparently here:

You'll need to do a quick, free registration and give them an email address,
to which they will send the login ID and password.
