Compact message

Every time I start up my computer I receive the following message "To free up
disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take a few
minutes"

Trouble is - I am using Outlook 2007 and NOT Outlook Express What do I do?

Do you have anything related to Outlook Express in your startup items?
Or is the message coming from somewhere else (see header), e.g. Disk
Cleanup?

Outlook Express is not even set up on my computer.
The message pops up as soon as I start up the computer

I have the exact same problem. I've not ever used express on this new
laptop; it has all updates and gives me the exact same message, "To free up
disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take a few
minutes".

Clearly this isn't Outlook doing this, but Outlook Express and you should be
asking in the Outlook Express newsgroup, the link to which has already been
posted in this thread.

unhelpful reply I have ever witnessed. I have also got this message with a
machine that is using microsoft outlook version sp3 (11.8169.8172),outlook
express isnt installed, was never installed, isnt beening used and has been
removed from windows add on componets, any helpful ideas or solutions welcome.

There's NO WAY that Outlok will give you a message that contains the phrase
"Outlook Express".
