There _is_ *no* DOS in w2k!
Take a DOS floppy and boot from it? Or search google on the keywords
dual-/multiboot.

If you want to run a software with an integrated dosextender or which
wants to control protected mode itself you have no luck.

.oh yeah....I'm running 2000 Prof. and I am trying to
flash a new bios to my motherboard. But I need a command
prompt that is not in protected mode....Of course, the m-
board company has mostly incorrect instructions.

www.bootdisk.com

If you have a WinXP machine (at least the Pro version) you can create
a boot diskette with the Format applet, ie, Right-Click on A: then
Format.
