command line disappearing?

when I type in CMD in windows Xp for some reason my command line comes up and
then disappears? does anyone have any sugguestions on what it could be? maybe
a virus? please reply soon thanks

Well it sure does smell like a virus.. Download Live OneCare from
http://www.microsoft.com/download..

Do u have other problems like internet explorer shutting down unexpectedly

no everything else seems to be running fine, just the command prompt will
disappear soon as a type in CMD i can see it for like a sec then it will be
gone..
