okay..i just recently bought a 256 ram upgrade for my
computer..and i put it into the slot that had my 128 ram
inserted. I placed my 128 in the slot right below my 256
and i was wondering if i could combine these somehow to
have 300+ ram

Your Owners manual should tell you how much Ram your Motherboard will
handle.
On some boards the Ram modules have to be inserted in a specific order.
Try swapping slots to see if it helps.

You should install the higher rated memory module into the
first slot(check motherboard specifications)...this will
probably allow to combine different dimms.

Go to crucial.com and get the required info on your system, slots, maximum
mem, type of memory etc.
