adding fraphics card on old pc

i have an compaq presario SR 1530IL pc with 256 MB of RAM and onboar
graphics chip of probably 128 MB
could i add some graphics card to it?

what is the difference between a PCI & a PCI-E slot?
which one does my PC have?

Are there any graphics cards that can be plugged in through USB

Last question - probably - but not worth it - especially on that machine.
