COM+

I have been getting errors with COM+ in the computer management system
window, went to administrative tools and clicked component services which
under it says computers when I either click on computers the window
disappears or computers appears in the right pane but my computer is not
listed and nothing is listed under computers.I also cannot add my computer
in the list of computers,have tried to research this problem on Microsoft's
site but cannot find info on this problem.I am running XP Pro SP2 and all
current updates,been trying to resolve this problem for 2 weeks now and some
help from the PROS on this would be great..........Thanks

It sounds like DCOMCNFG.EXE is disabled.

1. Start Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE
3. Change the EnableDCOM string value to Y.
4. Restart the operating system for the changes to take effect.

That didn't help the value was"Y" but thanks anyway, I for got to mention
that I have a network with another XP Pro box on it and the console works on
it, it shoes all of the components on the system in component services,
wondering if there is a conflict........input anyone?

Look in the Event Viewer under System for DCOM errors. There should be
plenty to choose from.

yeah there is a boatload, also tried this
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;870655 with no
success I know this is a Sp2 problem did not receive these errors before Sp2
and also I think it has something to do with dllhost.exe because in the task
manager shows it starting and stopping constantly....ideas ?
