Column Heading Bar Missing

C

Cathy C

I have a client who shut his Dell Latitude down and when he reopened it, his
display settings were way off. We reset those, but when he went into Outlook
(2003), the column heading bar over the messages was missing. We ran a
detect and repair and reset current view, but it's still missing. The column
heading bar is present on other folders. What am I missing?

Thanks,
Cathy

Cathy,

Try running an "outlook /cleanviews" Also, make sure you have resized the
preview pane, to see if the column headers you speak of will return.

Thanks, Ryan, but I don't know how to run an outlook/cleanviews. Please
advise.

I'm not exactly clear on how to run outlook /cleanviews. Do I create a batch
file, save to root of C, run cmd, cd\, type name of batch file? Or, do I
create a shortcut to Outlook.exe and modify it to add a /cleanviews at the
end, and run it ... but that would not involve a command prompt? Well, you
see my dilemma. Please advise.

Thanks,
Cathy

Start>Run. Enter
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Officexx\Outlook.exe" /CleanViews

where "xx" is a value indicating your version of Outlook. Just enter the
full path to your Outlook image.
