CODEC - Where I can get it to play MPEG2?

Playback/importing of MPEG2 content is completely dependant on the third
party MPEG2 decoder installed on your computer. Most do not work well. See
the Importing Source Files > Video > MPEG2 page of www.papajohn.org
 
You are trying to import an MPEG2 file to MM2. Video editing programs do not like MPEG2 files. These MPEG's are considered finished projects. They are meant to be burned to DVD disc and viewed with any DVD compatible player or PC application. To import to MM2 and try to edit is like trying to put a firecracker back together. It can be done, but....
If you have the original video footage, re-capture it as a DV-AVI setting and edit it from there. MM2 wasn't developed to work with MPEG2 files
