Closing Folders

I accidentally shut down my PC (Win XP Home) with a folder still opened on
the Desktop. Now everytime I start up the PC, that same folder opens
automatically in the same position.

How do I stop it from doing that?
 
Control Panel / Folder Options / View Tab Uncheck (near bottom of the
list) "Restore previous folder windows at logon"
