please help thank you. p.s. I know nothing about computors

Hi GAULSKI does your system freeze/crash before your clock stops? A quick
check that elimates most gremlins is to check your Fan(s) are running. If
your machine especially your Processor start to overheat they just lock up.
Make sure the fan spins smoothly and is free from dust.
I would also recommend you download a free temperature program to make sure
you can download it from http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php its free and
is invaluable. If you can let your machine run up for a few minutes and just
check the temperatures write down the peaks and post them back.
Also can you let me and the others on here know what mainboard you use, and
the processor etc.
If you have any problems getting the information downlaod cpuid from
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php it will give you everything you need.

HI again checked your CPU and board temps and they are fine for your CPU so
no heat issues. A bit stumped to be honest so have passed it on to a friend
in Reading. One thing to look at is event viewer. You can run event viewer by
going to start - run - type MMC to bring up the management console- go to
file add/remove snap in to open a dialog box scroll down to event viewer,
highlight and click add and select local computer. CLick add again and then
close and OK the next boxes. In the right hand window you will see event
viewer with a folder icon, click in and it will give 3 different options,
"Applications, security and System. Open the system log and look for any red
x icons with error next to them or any yellow triangles with Warning next to
them. Look especially for any with W32Time as the source. Clicking these will
open another box with a description. They are fairly self explanatory look
for anything that relates to crashes as they clock stopping may just be a
symptom of a freeze not the other way around. Write down what you get and
post it back on here.
We'll get there.
