Clipboard not working

Mauro

I have this problem which happens only sometimes. The clipboard stops
working. If I selct some text then "copy", when I "paste" it does not paste
anything.
Considering the "paste" option appears, I think the copy process works, but
there is some problem in the pasting phase.
This happens with everything: text, files, folders and so on!

Please help!!

Hi

Have a look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries there may reference
the problem.

I cannot see anything really strange...
I have my antivirus updated and a complete scan did not find any virus.

What else can be?

Hi

Do this happen with any particular app/program or just randomly with any of
them?

M

Mauro

It happens only sometimes and when it happens it is for everything (text,
files, folders, etc..).

Mauro

You mean if there is always the same program open when this happens?
I don't think so!

I fear that tha copy works and the past is done somewhere else... something
cheating my data!!
Would it be possible?

Mauro

No! That is the problem!!
When this issue happens, if I want to copy a file I have to drag and
CTRL+drop it...

Mauro

No, neither it!
Only drag and ctrl+drop works!

Hi

If 'Paste' isn't working - does Ctrl + V?

It happens.

Usually copy/paste works on the second attempt.

Something that MIGHT help. Start up
%windir%\System32\Clipbrd.exe
(or just run Clipbrd)
and resize the window so you can watch the contents.
This lets you see what is happening in the Clipboard
without changing the contents.
Watch how that changes as you do each thing you usually
do with your Clipboard.
See if you can find a clue about how your problem fails.

This advice has helped at least one other person diagnose
a Clipboard problem.
Even though File cut/copy/paste use the same keys, files
do not show up in the Clipboard the same way text does.

Mauro, this may be a long shot.
However, you may wish to try it for a bit after you have disabled your
antivirus.
Antivirus does a lot behind the scenes, so to speak and may somehow be
interfering.
