Clip Board Problems

We have started to experience problems with Microsoft Word/Excel and Access
copying and pasting between applications. This started roughly when we
deployed SP4 to our workstations. This problem does not occur if any MS
Office application is left running in the background when data is copied and
pasted.

Example Text selected in MS Office application, text is copied copied,
user exits application.

New application opened, text paste is disabled.

What is strange about this situation is we have used the clipbook/clipboard
viewer to view the clipboard. Once the application exits, the data is in the
clipboard. Once the next application is started, the clipboard is emptied.

do you have any addins installed that could be erasing the addin (often when
they create their custom toolbars)

TVP works with me. There are no addins involved that we know of. This only
occurs with the Office 2000 applications and the clipboard.

is mappoint installed on those computers? if so and if it' providing the
mapping service for contacts, it erases the clipboard when it loads.

MapPoint has NEVER been loaded. This is happening on at least 20 of our
laptop systems.
