stop office from clearing the clipboard on load?

Hi

1. Fire up notepad or paint or something and copy some text or an
image
2. Fire up an Office 2007 application (excel, word, whatever)
3. Hit paste - nothing happens. The clipboard is empty.

This behaviour in EXCEL is WRONG.

How to PERMANENTLY disable this behaviour so that my clipboard's
previous behaviour is preserved (e.g. if I stick something in the
clipboard it's in there until *** I *** overwrite it)?

Office has it's own clipboard.
