Client services for netware

Hi,

I am back again... I finally realized it was the "Client services for
netware" component that was causing my image to have a classic logon screen.
What I don't understand is, what actually caused this component to be added?

I have 2 images, one English and one with some Asian languages. When I build
my English language image, everything is ok, no "Client services for netware"
component. When I build my Asian language image, suddenly, this component is
added due to Auto resolve dependencies. Is there any linkage to the MUI
resources to this component? If I simply ignore this particular dependency
and delete the component (while turning off Autoresolve), does it cause any
harm, besides not have file and print acces to Netware servers?

Still very puzzled.... :(

Hello Rei,

If you remove the "Client services for Netware" component, turn off
Auto-Resolve, and run a dependency check what is the component that is
requesting "Client services for Netware"?

Maybe that will help tol isolate the problem?

Hi Brad,

It is this "Help and Services" component (sorry if I got the name wrong, as
I don't have my machine with me right now).

I did try to turn off AutoResolve and do a step by step trace, but this
component appeared after the 3rd or 4th round of resolving dependencies, even
though it seemed to me I was only adding MUI resource components before that.
This component was asking for many other dependent components, which included
"Client Services for Netware".

I believe this was listed in the relnotes. This occurs in XP-Pro as well,
the deal is that netware couldn't handle logon via Friendly Logon UI, it has
a hard requirement on the two-tiered logon ui.

Try this - you can include the service but not have it running by default if
you don't have to. As i recall, you can try disabling the snetcfg action in
the component's FBResource in TD - this will add the bits but not configure
the CSNW service during FBA.

Hi Andy,

Thanks so much for the tips! I disabled it from TD, and it's working nicely
now.

Um... how can I enable it if the user wants to use this service in the
future? I mean from runtime?

Thanks for your patience!
