clearing searches

How do I clear, and keep cleared, the search dropdown? I
am talking about how XP "remembers" what you previously
searched for and calls it up in a dropdown box if you go
back in later and say start a new search word with the
same beginning letter.
 
Bring up Search, in the window on the left scroll down to Change Preferences
and then click "Turn AutoComplete Off".
