Is there a way to clear the exiting network locations when re-name,
re-configuring other computers. They refuse to "wipe themselves out." These
are the once that come up under the "Add a Network place Manager."

TIA

Hi Axel,

Are you referring to the entries that are in the drop down box when you are
specifying a location in the Add Network Place Wizard
or
Are you talking about the My Network Places folder that has shortcuts to
various network locations?

Thanks.

Hi Axel,

You can remove the entries by doing the following:

(WARNING: If you haven't worked with the registry before, take a look at
this first -
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;256986)

Go to this Registry key:
My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explore
r\PublishiungWizard\AddNetPlace\LocationMRU

Remove the locations you no longer appear. If you leave some behind, edit
the MRUList key and specify the letters of the ones you want to stay and the
show up in the order they are listed.

Hope this helps!
Thanks.
