Cleaning up deleted program..?

Hi,

This may be a dumb question, but I have to ask..

I am running Windows 2000.
Recently I uninstalled(through Add/Remove Programs) an old
copy of Netscape Navigator. Everything with the uninstall
appeared to go fine, as far as I could see. I received
any expected warnings and info regarding deleting the
program, and confirmed as usual. Can't recall, but I may
have been asked to reboot.

The problem is that the Netscape program never left my
Add/Remove Programs, and still shows up there. It does
not show any data(change/remove buttons, size, use, etc.,
but it's still on the list of programs, there. I have
since removed any references/folders/stray files relating
to Netscape from the computer. Is there something to
change in the registry(or elsewhere?) to remove this from
Add/Remove Programs? Is this hurting anything otherwise,
besides annoying me..?

D,

The entry is not hurting anything.

It is a registry entry. Before you delete or modify anything, it is
imperitive you back up your registry first.
At a minimum, back up the branch of the registry you are intending to alter.

Go to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

You should see Netscape listed here.
By deleting the branch that points to the Netscape uninstall routine, you
will remove the option in Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs.
