clean WIN2K setup error

Feeble C

I'm trying to do a "clean" install of Windows 2000 Pro and get an
error message saying setup wasn't able to find any hard disk drives
installed in my computer, and the setup stops right there. How to
proceed in this situation? Is there any hardware configuration I have
to do? I'm a novice.

TIA

This is not detecting any hard drives in your system.

From checking the obvious (ie is hard drive installed??) you may need to get
the mass storage driver for Win2k to see your hard disk. For example, some
servers like Compaq/HP require mass storage drivers in order to access the
disks.

For the majority of installations however, Microsoft has generic IDE and
SCSI drivers which are loaded to detect your hard disks. I would personally
first check the BIOS to see if your drives are being recognised by your
system. If you can, please let me know what type of system it is and I will
help you find the drivers.

Regards
Paul.
