CINAG Chess Game? Other Freeware

I found an interesting site

It has several freeware apps and games if you look around.

It led me to here > http://cinag.sourceforge.net/cinag-en/download.shtml

Has anyone tried this? I know there have been several chess threads
lately. I don't like to download things where you have to get
sourcecode or binary because I don't really know what to do with that
stuff. I skipped over Pysol because I didn't want to install Python to
make it work. I would like to try this chess game, but if I download
it will I need to compile something, or just install it?
Thanks

In my Quest for a Chess game, if found a program named "Pawn". Just like the
name a very simple but nice-to-see game. Just install & go. Aviable at
http://www.pawnchess.com/

If you are a good chessplayer, you might beat it quite simply (I will even
loose if the program has a do-a-random-leagal-move option)

The strongest freeware chess game I've encountered is Ruffian 1.0.5 (For the
die hards ELO level 2700 on an Athlon 2.6 GHz), but this is ust an engine
you will have to put an interface ontop of it (And you mentioned you did not
want to). But for other chess players, you could take a look at Arena
http://www.playwitharena.com/ (one of the possible interfacesof the Ruffian
chess engine. links to the engine included)
