Choose Windows XP RIS to deploy using GUID (MAC Address) On Windows 2003 Server

Hi everyone,

As a system administrator of my company I am given a task to setup a
new server
using Windows 2003 Server DHCP and Active directories.

I am to setup the server for roaming profiles and create RIS of
windows XP.

I am able to sucessfully create and deploy images to machines that
have same hardware........ but my company have three diffrent types of
hardware PDA ,
HP ultra slims, and laptops and could be more in future.

I want the server to decide which is the appropiate image to deploy on
the
requsting machine (I will create three images for the three different
hardwares).

I was thinking of doing this by using VB script to check for the MAC
address of
the requesting machine and select which image to deploy but have been
unsucessful.

Why I want to do this is because most of the time I am away from the
office
and donot want any user interaction during installation.

Need help and any suggestion urgently.

Thanks to all in advance.

Hi Eric,

I don't know how to do what you ask, but I have a suggestion. Would it
suffice to set permissions on the *.sifs for your images so only the desired
individuals or groups can see the particular image?

If that's no help then maybe someone else can suggest something.
