When I right click on a file I get the "Open with"
dialogue box then I click on "Browse", then I go
to "choose a program" and in this box there is a program
that doesn't work. How can I delete this program from
the "choose a program" box? Someone PLEASE help me?

And what program would that be?? Have you tried
uninstalling it from Add/Remove programs? Maybe you just
haven't had a file that program uses.
Applications/Programs only open files they are associated
with. Just because this program doesn't "work", doesn't
mean it wont work when you have an associated file for it
to work with.

The program in the "Choose program" box which doesn't
work reads "paperport" and it has an unusual box not like
the original paperport which does work? When I press on
this box I get a message which pops up in it's own box
which states "00.BMP is not a valid win32 application"
then I click on "OK" and the box dissappears doing
nothing to the program. How can I delete this program
form this "choose programs" box? Also it's not in
the "add\remove" section of my comtrol panel. PLEASE HELP.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure at this point if you are looking for
duplicates, if the icon listed as 00.BMP is incorrect, thus causing the
bogus entry and error message and/or it was a failed installation, etc.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList

If it is listed there, delete it.

If not, go here and navigate down to the program:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications

Once found, right click in the right pane and select New/String Value and
name it: NoOpenWith
or again, delete it.

Hope this helps and good luck!
