The program in the "Choose program" box which doesn't
work reads "paperport" and it has an unusual box not like
the original paperport which does work? When I press on
this box I get a message which pops up in it's own box
which states "00.BMP is not a valid win32 application"
then I click on "OK" and the box dissappears doing
nothing to the program. How can I delete this program
from this "choose programs" box? Also it's not in
the "add\remove" section of my comtrol panel so I can not
remove this program that way. I just want to be able to
get into the "open with" "choose program" box so that I
can delete this invalid program which does not work, is
there a way to get into the "choose program box" and
delete or remove this program? PLEASE HELP.

Alexisderio,

Open Registtry Editor and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications

Locate the subkey- for that application you wish to remove (from Open-with box).

Backup the selected branch to a REG file.

Delete the sub-key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\<programname.exe>

Or, Add an empty REG_SZ (String Value) named "NoOpenWith" in the right-pane.
