Choose Profile

If I forget to unplug my Pocket PC unit, starting Outlook 2003 always opens
to my profile. It does not give the option of selecting a profile. As such,
my wife cannot get into her stuff at all.

Is there a startup command line switch that would force Outlook to open to
her profile even if the PocketPC is attached? (Thinking of making that a
shortcut.)

Thank you.

No, because your Pocket PC is keeping Outlook open (at least in the
background) and Outlook can only run 1 profile at a time.

Thank you, Roady.

I'm not asking to have more than one profile open at the same time... I just
want my wife to be able to open her Outlook calendar & email if my smartphone
is connected for recharging.

Sorry. I just reread your note re: "at least in the background".

Incredible. I was really looking forward to moving away from the Palm OS
thinking that Outlook, Win Mobile, PPC, etc would be better to work with. But
it seems to be one limitation after another. The grass is not greener.

This is not caused by Outlook but by ActiveSync since that is the
application that keeps the connection open. You can leave your PDA connected
and change Outlook profiles as long as you close the sync application to
kill the open connection.
