CHKDSK

So I was having computer problems, and it told me to run CHKDSK /F. So
I did, and it said it couldn't because another process was running on
volume C:. So I told it to run when I restarted my computer, and it
did, and then it would run after I restarted my computer every time.
Well, I eventually figured out how to turn it off again... But now when
I try to run Disk Defragment, it says that CHKDSK is still scheduled to
run, and that I have to run it before I can defrag. Any suggestions?

I have a dual boot WME-W2K system. I find it easy to avoid that conundrum by
running CHKDSK from the *other* system. E.g. to CHKDSK C:, I boot E:, run
Command Prompt, and enter "CHKDSK C:"
